Triathlon ACT would like to invite all government and business organisations to participate in this worthwhile team-building and fitness activity. The DLA Phillips Fox Government & Business Triathlon's purpose is to provide a social, fun, fitness based outlet for friendly local, interstate and intra-department competition. The employees benefit with increased fitness, stronger work relations and reduce stress levels. The employers benefit with less employee absences due to illness, higher productivity levels and greater staff relations. It's a Win/Win outcome!
Plus all your favourites continue - short or long course with standard team entries where each team member completes just one leg. All team members receive a DLA Phillips Fox kit bag at registration.
Trophies and perpetual shields will be awarded to the outright winning teams in all three (short/long/full) events. All male, female and mixed team category winners will also be awarded trophies.
For those of you entering your first triathlon, you are definitely not alone at this event. It is all about beginners having a go.
How to Enter: Once you have recruited your team mates, commit to your new fitness regime by entering your team online. See the online entry link on this website. Nothing motivates more than a definate commitment - use it to keep your workmates keen and involved in their bid to improve their fitness and health. You can enter/ register on the day (late fee applied) from 7am.
Event Registration: The team captain or a team representative must check in at the registration tent from 7am on Sunday 28th of November to register their teams and collect kits bags for all team members as well as their team race numbers and timing chip. Registration will be on race site near the Transition area.
Find your team-mates: Look for the "MEETING PLACE" sign as an easy way to find your team-mates on the morning if you do not have a corporate marquee booked.
Swimmers: you will be starting in one of several ‘wave’ starts designated by a colour coded swim cap issued at Registration on Sunday - you don’t all start at once. You will most likely be standing in the water at the edge of the lake with your fellow wave start entrants and when the Race Referee gives the all clear, the starters horn will blow. You will swim around the swim buoys as per the course description (safety canoes will be in attendance around the whole swim course). You will then exit the water and run up to the transition area where your cyclist will be waiting for you to tag them.
Cyclists: Ensure your helmet is secured on your head before you remove your bike from the rack. Once you have been tagged by your swimmer, you must ‘run’ your bike to the designated bike mount line, where you can hop on your bike and commence pedaling. After completing the appropriate number of cycle course laps for your race distance (short or long), you then need to dismount from your bike at the dismount line and ‘run’ your bike back to the same rack as you started. You can then tag your runner.
Runners: Once your cyclist has tagged you, you can head out to the run course, complete the appropriate course for your race distance.
